All-Inclusive Services

Dahl-House Construction provides architectural drawings of your space, showing the proposed window well modification.  Additionally, we fill out the necessary paperwork to access the permits as your contractor.  When required by cities or counties, or due to the structural condition of your home, we provide engineering and arrange for a site visit by our licensed structural engineer to determine the most cost-effective and safe way to modify the foundation of your home.  Most jobs, excluding excavation, are completed in as little as one day, and your house is never exposed to weather, except during the actual window installation itself.

Window Well Excavation

We excavate for the future window well area by hand, using picks, shovels and wheel barrels to not disturb nearby landscaping and gardens.  We place tarps on the ground and then place dirt that will be used for backfilling on the tarps.  This has been one of the most efficient and reliable ways to keep the jobsite neat and clean when doing a window well excavation.

Concrete Cutting & Installation

Concrete cutting and installation of your basement egress window(s) takes place after the Denver window well excavation is completed.  To protect the interior, we cover your floors with carpet masks and drop cloths where we enter your home.  The concrete cutting is typically performed from the exterior of your home.  We take the time to ensure that the concrete cutting is performed with precision accuracy for a perfect fit of your new egress window and to avoid common problems such as over-cuts. Once the concrete is cut it is pushed out, broken up and disposed of for you.  The window well is set, backfilled and properly graded to prevent water intrusion. 

Custom Finishes

Dahl-House Construction installs your ladder, gravel in the base of the window well, and then sweeps, rakes and hauls away the remaining dirt in our trailers.  The area is now ready for the actual egress window installation – we install your egress window, insulate it if desired, seal it and trim it on the exterior.  Finally, we install the window well cover, if one is requested for your project.  Upon completion of the project, an inspection by a city or county building official will be scheduled.  We will arrange a day for the inspection which works best for you.
